About Us
Care & Love is a home for needy and orphaned children in Hyderabad, India. The organization currently provides food, shelter, clothing, education, healthcare and, of course, that which its name promises, to 39 children. There are approximately 80 million orphaned or neglected children in India; in Hyderabad alone, there are approximately 16 million. For these children, very few options exist: they can turn to begging on the streets; they can end up in brothels; or they can enter into other various forms of illegal activity to support themselves for as long as they can. Nuthan, a former five-star hotel employee turned "daddy" to orphaned and neglected children, offers a new option: they can come to Care & Love, home for orphaned and needy children, and receive that which the organization's name promises. Through Care & Love, Nuthan and his staff of four caretakers strive to help the 39 orphaned and needy children currently in their care. Presently, the home is funded solely by Nuthan's salary and the kind donations of friends. Through use of these funds, the beneficiaries of Care & Love receive food, shelter, clothing and education. Care & Love restores childhood and widens the otherwise narrow list of possibilities for the children's futures. The home (it is never referred to as an "orphanage" by those involved) feels nothing like an institution - rather, it is a big, eccentric family of bright and happy children with a hard-working father who loves them.
